KK Custom Leather is a proudly Manitoba-based leatherworking business built on passion, craftsmanship, and years of dedication. Founded by Kim and Ken Kunz, our journey began in 2004 as a humble hobby and evolved into a full-time business in 2012.

What started as a part-time pursuit to learn the art of leather tooling quickly grew into a lifelong commitment to excellence. In the early years, our products were crafted at cost — not for profit, but to master the skills that define true craftsmanship. We joined the Manitoba Leather Crafters Association, connecting with a vibrant community of artisans through the Manitoba Leather Guild, where we continue to grow and share knowledge.

Ken, one of only four certified instructors at the Tandy Leather Factory in Winnipeg, honed his skills through years of training under master leatherworkers. His dedication to the craft has been matched by a commitment to teaching and passing on these traditional skills.

Our official full-time launch came on June 4, 2012, with support from the Manitoba Tourism Education Council’s Self Employment Program — a key step in building the foundation for a sustainable, successful business.
